Session 20: Cleaning Up Thundertree

An Afternoon Stroll
It’s Thanksgiving weekend and it’s the first time that we have been in the same location as the Florida crew since July, but we wind up being short three players.
My son (Larn) and his cousin (Akkira) have decided that it’s more important to play with their 2-year-old cousin that they never see (and I agree with them) than spend the afternoon playing with us, and Yatendouji is inexplicably absent. As a group, we decide to play without the missing players, but agree to keep the Old Tower, Venomfang’s lair, off limits this week to make sure we do not rob any of the players of the excitement of fighting another dragon.
We were plagued with technical difficulties: internet connectivity issues, bluetooth issues, background noise, online tools not playing nicely, a plethora of things that we spent a good hour or so trying to resolve.
Finally, in game, we leave Larn and Akkira with the Cult to glean what information they can from them. Yatendouji runs off into the woods east of town without a word. He has not been seen in hours.
The remaining party members, Sagora, Zend, Yami and Lazmr, begin to wander through town and make their way to the Old Garrison in the northeast corner of town and put the zombie inhabitants to eternal rest. Then, on to the eastern side of the Blighted Cottages, making quick work of the multiple types of blights there.
Following that, they proceed to The Brown Horse to rid the tavern of its unwanted foliage. During the fight, Akkira, played by another cousin (who played with us the previous night and it was a chaotic, hilarious blast!), rejoins the party.
“Save one me! I changed my mind,” she says, running up to the tavern. She morphs into a bear and bites Zend because she doesn’t like that he beats up doors. Then she sits in the doorway between rooms, preventing anyone from entering or exiting until she is finally moved by a Thunderwave spell.
They ultimately clear out the tavern and we end the session there for the week.
