Exploring the Ancient Barracks

The session kicked off with the party uncovering an old barracks room filled with stone bunks, a corroded iron brazier, and piles of bones from a long-forgotten battle between dwarves and orcs. As they inspected the area, movement caught their eye—undead creatures began to rise from the beds, ready to attack!

Battle with the Undead

The party quickly sprang into action, rolling for initiative. Lazmr led the charge with a powerful chromatic orb, while Akkira, Yami, and the rest of the team engaged the undead with a flurry of attacks. The battle was intense, with spectral forms and zombies striking out at our heroes. Despite the undead’s relentless assault, the party managed to defeat them, with Akira delivering a fiery finishing blow that incinerated the last zombie.

Navigating the Cave’s Corridors

After the battle, the party took a moment to heal and regroup before continuing their exploration. They navigated through the cave’s winding corridors, encountering a series of intersections and blocked passages. Carlos, the party’s trusty scout, led the way, but the group remained vigilant for any signs of danger.

The Gelatinous Ambush

As they ventured further, the party was ambushed by a group of gelatinous creatures descending from the ceiling. These oozes proved to be a slippery foe, splitting into smaller versions of themselves when struck. The party had to adapt their tactics, using ranged attacks and spells to whittle down the oozes’ numbers. Lazmr’s divine smite and Akkira’s spectral birds were particularly effective in dealing with these gooey adversaries.

A Close Call

During the chaotic battle, Carlos was struck by a powerful pseudopod, taking significant acid damage. The party rallied to his aid, with Lazmr and Akkira delivering decisive blows to the remaining oozes. Despite the close call, the party emerged victorious, though not without a few members getting covered in goo.

Pressing Onward

With the oozes defeated, the party pressed onward, determined to uncover the cave’s secrets. They discovered more corridors and intersections, each turn bringing them closer to their ultimate goal. The session ended with the party preparing to delve even deeper into the cave, ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.
